Sally is the newest addition to my little home. She is a 8-9 month old that the rescue had labeled as a Tortie Point Ragdoll. It’s only been 24 hours but she seems quite happy. She’s very cuddly, loves to be held, follows me around, and gives little kitten kisses by licking my face.

I had wanted to adopt a new cat relatively quickly after losing Kitty, because that left my remaining cat Peaches alone after being with him her whole life.  The poor dear spent the first couple nights crying and wandering the house looking for him.  She’s been accepting of new cats in the past who came to visit, but she’s not appreciating Sally very much. I actually heard her hiss and growl for the first time! I’m sure it will just take some time.

I have 4 cats. The first 2 are sisters and are 11 years old. Two years ago we adopted a male kitten. He is needy and it was not love at first site. Then last year, we adopted another female kitten. She calmed the male down a but but he still has his moments of fighting with the two older cats. We are hoping that 3 years will be the magic number for him and that he will calm down. He had been sleeping next to one of the older cats lately, so we are hoping that is a good sign. The shelter told us it would be better to get a male since the older two are female. I think we will stick with females from now on. Two is a good number. Four is too many. The vet even told us that, but we would not part with them for anything.
