Venison Chili

Venison Chili

4 cups cooked red beans
1 lb ground venison
1 onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
3 1/2 cups broth/water
1 pint (16 oz) diced tomatoes
6 TBSP tomato paste
1 TBSP chili powder
1 TBSP ground cumin
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp paprika
1 bay leaf, broken in half
1 dash cinnamon
fresh ground pepper

Soak beans and cook 1 hour (or use canned).  Brown the venison in a large pot.  Add onion and pepper and saute until starting to soften.  Add beans and all remaining ingredients, cover, and simmer 1 1/2 hours.
