Crock Pot Refried Beans

1 cup dry pinto beans, rinsed
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
one pinch of cumin
3 cups water

Combine all ingredients in slow cooker and set on high for 8 hours. Remove big onion chunks. Drain and reserve excess liquid. Mash beans adding liquid if needed. (I added dab of coconut oil and some cheese as well)
